Whiptail II — Compensated Wraparound Bridge — Nickel

Whiptail II combines more accurate wraparound intonation with the fast, open response of a CNC-machined 7075-aluminum one-piece bridge. At approximately 30 g, it keeps the compact vintage wraparound concept while adding clarity, harmonic richness and depth.

This version is designed for straight or nearly straight stud layouts, where the guitar produces a low installed bridge angle. The correct Whiptail type is determined by the actual stud geometry — II, Classic and 50 are different compensation geometries, not quality levels.

Compatibility

Do not choose Whiptail from guitar model or year alone. Confirm the actual stud-center spacing, stud angle, bridge-facing stud-head geometry, bridge height and scale position on the instrument.

Whiptail uses the common Gibson-style stop-tail stud interface and fits standard stop-tail studs. When optional KMS studs are ordered, select the thread that matches the existing anchor: 5/16-24 or M8. The two thread systems are not interchangeable.

Existing studs can remain when they are correctly spaced, mechanically secure, undamaged and compatible with the bridge. Replacing functioning anchors is not automatically required.
